"We Are The Circumcision"     4345

Pastor Charles McKinney

Jesus warned us of tares: those who mean us no good. The early church often had to deal with those who espoused the letter of the law rather than the spirit of it. The one essential thing in worship is the Spirit. You can fake it outwardly, but not “true faith and the Spirit of God.” There is a difference between an outward form and what is in the heart. God is a Spirit and you must worship Him in Spirit and in truth. In fact, God is looking for true worshippers from the heart. The true worship of God is done with the heart, soul, and spirit. The purpose of circumcision was to say that you belonged to God. The Jews got the form but still missed the meaning. Christians look to Jesus as the fulfillment of all righteousness in us. As Christians, we understand that we don't take pride in ourselves or our flesh. We take pride in Jesus Christ.

      [Ask yourself these questions:]

bulletWhat have you learned since you have been here?
bulletHas it been a form or with a true spirit from the heart?
bulletWhere is your life counting for Jesus?
bulletWhat do you have for righteousness?
bulletDoes it bother you that you are not living for God?

The only place we can find our true self and the meaning of life is in Christ. Real, true saints of God will find a way to declare their God. If you are not living for Christ, you are wasting your life. When will you understand that your life is not about this world?

"I Shall See How It Shall Go With Me"     4341

Pastor Charles McKinney

Our inability to see our future circumstances is shown in this verse (Philippians 2:23). For us, living outside of the scriptures is a dark unknown. It is a miracle that any of us got saved. We are all unique in some way. When dealing with God and there is something you don't know, you can use that ignorance. Nonetheless, we need to learn that we are insignificant nothings. You need to realize how little you know when you run into a wall of ignorance. Ignorance can help you beware of presumptions. We are to cast not our works, but our cares upon God. You just do what you are supposed to do, but the actual outcome of a thing we don't know. −You just do your duty.

Not knowing the future, you should pray without ceasing. When you don't know something, it makes you talk to God. In which, “ignorance can educate you.” Regardless of the uncertainty, you can be encouraged. It is good not to be able to see everything that God has for us. God knows your future and is your friend and is concerned with your happiness...

The more you know of a thing, the more it tends to cross over into sorrow. Your ignorance will only take place in this time. “Thank God” that He has limited your knowledge of future events. Not knowing the future teaches us that God takes care of us. We should not set our hearts or plan on anything which we cannot expect God's guidance. Not knowing the future, you can trust God. You've got to learn to trust God. It contributes to so much happiness in this life.

"If I Be Offered Up, I Rejoice"     4336

Pastor Charles McKinney

If you are not saved, we want you to repent of sin. If we care for the glory of God, we will offer up ourselves. A true Christian life involves some sacrifice.  A sacrifice involves giving up something. If you are really saved, it is a daily thing to deny yourself.  If you don't give yourself over to Christ, then you will give yourself over to something else. What are you offering yourself up for?  Is it shame and embarrassment?  Offer yourself up to God.  Give yourself over to the righteous truths of the Bible. Listen and receive instruction to avoid being sacrificed by the devil. Of course, if you reject the sacrifice of Christ, you will die and go to hell.

"Holding Forth The Word"     4335

Pastor Charles McKinney

Holding forth the word is what will carry the day. Jesus Christ is the Word of God and the Word of God is Jesus. Therefore, the Word is life. This Word can discern the thoughts and intents of the heart. The eternal life we have, we got from the Word of God. We have the word of life. Everything is upheld by the word of God. There is nothing before God. The devil is always trying to get us away from the word of God. The only real thing is the word of God. The world has its way of presenting things, but if you want the truth, go to the Bible. Anything in life can be interpreted through the scriptures. Just believe the Bible; it governs life. The only thing to keep us standing is holding forth the word of life. God's word is true and everything will be like He says.

"Examine Yourself"     4334

Pastor Charles McKinney

Being sure you are saved from hell is what this verse (II Corinthian 13:5) is all about. If you die lost, you will go to hell. The problem with most of us is that we won't be honest with ourselves about who we are. When you examine yourself “whether you are in the faith,” you need to be honest. If you are lost and die lost, you are going to hell. This issue needs to be settled.

When you play with God and play with the Word, your mind slips. Therefore, you can profess to know the Lord Jesus, but it doesn't make you so.

Ref: II Corinthians 13:5; I Corinthians 11:31; Hebrews 4:1-2; John 5:39-42; John 6:66-71; John 3:1-21; Acts 10:1-11, 13-23, 34-40
